Nancy
Nancy is documented in the LeClaire family record through the following ancestors:
Jean Le Clerc
1586, 1633
Soldier of the Republic of Venice against the Ottomans, Knight of Saint Mark, and one of the most distinguished painters ever produced by Lorraine, the figure who, with his brother Alexandre, restored the hereditary nobility of the House of Le Clerc de Pulligny in 1623.
Alexandre Le Clerc de Pulligny
1585, after 1659
Born in Nancy, son of Claude II Le Clerc de Pulligny and Claudon Mengin de Pulligny. Served Charlotte Catherine de La Trémoille, Princess of Taranto and wife of Henri de Bourbon-Condé. Later a Knight of Saint Mark and, together with his brother Jean, restored to hereditary nobility on 28 May 1623. Alexandre represents the most likely continuation of the direct ancestral line following Claude II.
Blessed Alix Le Clerc

Foundress, educator and religious reformer, pioneer of free education for girls of every social class, founder of the Canonesses of Notre Dame, and one of the most internationally influential figures ever to bear the Le Clerc name. Beatified by Pope Pius XII in 1947.
